Good evening sponsors,
My name is Craig Sigley and I have known Wayne Collins for a number of years through our shared love of cycling and taking on fundraising challenges for various charities. Earlier this year my wife, Sarah, and I answered Wayne’s plea for more child sponsors and along with my daughter, Lily, I was lucky enough to visit some of the schools and the Women’s Empowerment Centre in July. It was so impactful to see the great work that Choice Through Education UK is doing in Kenya. I have agreed to help Wayne and CTE UK generally with some the charity’s administration, so you may be hearing more from me in the future.
But the main purpose of this message is to share some updates with you…
For most, though not all, we have updates from the children and their teachers – by way of photos of the students, school reports and thank you letters to you from your sponsored children. I will shortly be distributing these to you under separate cover. For those of you who do not receive an update please rest assured that I will be working with the schools to encourage receipt of these reports and letters in the future. It is the least you deserve.
We are running two Sponsor and Volunteer trips – one in May and one at the end of July – to visit the schools and Women’s Empowerment Centre that we support. The purpose is to help the teachers at school as well as the centre staff who run the holiday camps for rescued children (who either have no home to go to or where it is not safe for them to go home during the school holidays). If anyone would like to join us, please would you let me know as soon as possible?
Many of you pay your student sponsorship fees by monthly standing order. Thank you – this is really helpful and cuts down on the administration at our end.
If you currently pay annually, we ask whether you would consider switching to a monthly standing order? If you are willing to do this, please let me know and Wayne or I will be in touch to help with the switch.
If you have any questions regarding the on-going support for CTE UK, your sponsored children or indeed any other matter, then please do let me know and I will do my utmost to help.
Lastly, thank you so much on behalf of the children for your continued support. Your help is quite literally life-changing and in some circumstances life-saving. Thank you.
Kindest regards,
Craig Sigley
