Back in the Mara visiting our projects and as many of our sponsored students as possible

This is William who I sponsored initially 17 years ago when he was orphaned at 11. I sponsored him through his education and now he is a High School teacher who has recently taken up a new post teaching at the same High School in Narok where he attended as a student all those years ago. I am so very, very proud of him.

The young girl with him is Jaqueline who he and his wife took in after her mother left her with them a few months ago and has never returned. She has 7 other children and does not have the means to support her.

She is 10 years old and should be in Grade 5.

I am going to Nkineji school tomorrow to see if we can find a sponsor they will enroll her there.

It means that she will be with one of William’s children who she knows through living with them.

For the remainder of this year to help her acclimatise she will be a day student and then become a border from January 2026.

William and Doris have then very kindly offered to take her into their home for this year and then to give her somewhere to go in the holidays.

As the holiday centre for the rescued children is relatively close she will be able to attend some days during the holidays as well.

The cost of sponsoring Jacqueline is £18 a month.
