Samantha is child No. 11 to be rescued

  • Choice Through Education - Samantha

Samantha is Child 11 (I can’t quite believe I am typing that number after only 9 days since my first post about these children) who is currently in Grade 5.

Her mother has had a stroke resulting in her being paralysed down one side.

Samantha’s older sister who had just finished school has become her mum’s full-time carer. She also has to work to pay the family bills but cannot earn sufficient to educate Samantha.

She was struggling to care for Samantha at the same time so they brought her to Merrow to see if they would educate her. Merrow took her in but she would not have been able to stay.

Thanks to three wonderful ladies from Chesterfield who have each generously committed £12 a month each Samantha will be told in the morning that she can stay at school and is no longer at risk of being sent away from school at the end of this academic year.

Subject to her mother’s health it is hoped that she will be able to go and spend some time with her mother and sister during the holidays.

You are wonderful, generous people, thank you so much, you have changed her life, given her childhood back and a wonderful education which will allow her to make choices about her future and in turn those of her children if she goes on to have them.
