And here is the proof! These 12 Nkineji students are the Entito students. Jeannette Fuller the mothers of these children have or are training at the CTE Maasai Women’s Empowerment Centre which you so generously helped fund the building or phase 1 and subsequent running costs.
The previously uneducated women attend classes and also work within the centre and elsewhere to earn their own living rather than existing at the mercy of their husbands.
This has empowered them and given them choice which they did not have before. They have chosen to use part of the money that they earn to pay school fees to educate their children!!!
Not only are they not paying extremely grateful, but they are enormously proud of what they are achieving.
The demand for the empowerment centre far outstrips our capacity and therefore on Friday, we start construction of phase 2. To date, we have raised 66% of the costs which allows work to commence. We now need to fundraise £3,400 to complete it.
Thank you Julie Jewels for funding the teacher’s salary.
